Colombia Santander is organically grown in the mountainous, forested Andes. This Rain Forest Alliance coffee follows principles on conserving forest, soil, and water resources. The producers own farms that average 25 acres in size. Each producer owns their own micro-mill where meticulous care in cherry selection, depulping, fermenting, and drying coffee takes place. The group works with the Federacion Nacional de Cafeteros de Colombia to gain better access to technical support for best agricultural practices. The Federacion also provides producers with financing, training, technical assistance and strives to improve the quality of life for producers and their families through projects promoting income diversification and education.
